Why Nuero Linguistic Programming Works So Fast

Neuro-Linguistic Programming recognizes that all behaviors occur in patterns and are rooted in the subconscious mind. Another tenet of NLP is that we are always communicating. The person you communicate with more then anyone else is YOU! And the single most important factor that affects the way we think and feel is the deep structure of that “internal dialogue” of communication of you to you. With this information, a qualified NLP practitioner can help his students to influence behavioral patterns through the use of specific language changes and other types of communication changes (words only account for 7% of our ability to communicate) to enable a person to “recode” information that is stored in their subconscious. This results in new and better patterns of behavior. This also radically affects how people see and feel about themselves in a very positive and healthy way. Because these people now value themselves at a much higher level, they often go on to make significantly more money, many get married or get into healthy fulfilling relationships and go on to lead rich, fulfilled lives. Neuro-Linguistic Programming often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the change (or “programming”) that the client wants to change. I have personally seen hundreds of people stop doing depression and or anxiety with lasting results after only a few sessions. The results you can expect with a good NLP practitioner are nothing short of amazing.

How to Take Control of Your Sub Conscious Mind

Your sub-conscious or non-conscious mind works approximately 400 to 2,000 times faster then your conscious mind. Think about that for a moment. If your subconscious mind works that much faster than your conscious mind, would it not be beneficial to direct it? Here’s a clue: If you do not direct it your subconscious mind will direct you.

There is a real part of your brain known as the Reticular Activating System. Your RAS is  constantly searching for what to focus on. With all the modern technology, we have more access to news than ever before. Since most of the news reported today is negative, It  can affect your RAS and what it habitually focuses on. If you do not consciously direct your Reticular Activating system, it will direct you.

Our conscious minds are capable of focusing on seven things at once, plus or minus two.
And  right at this very moment, there are at least two billion bits of sensory data coming at you! Out of that two billion the most you can process at your absolute best is 134 bits per second. And that is at your absolute best. But few of us are at our absolute best all the time. In reality the level we operate at is between 7 to 9 bits per second. 7 to 9 out of 2,000,000! So that means is our perception of reality is really, really subjective.

So what happens to the other 1,999,991 bits per second? We subconsciously filter deleting, distorting and generalizing.
Think about this: are news broadcasts generally focused on good news or bad? And with so many different sources of information these days between smart phones, tablets, video and audio, we can barely get away from it! So if your RAS is focusing on 7 to 9 bits of data that it is picking up unconsciously the odds are good that you are unwittingly training your non-conscious mind to focus on negativity. The result of that at a minimum is you fell less than enthusiastic about life and the world and many people end up feeling depressed and anxious. In my opinion, that is no way to go through life.

Here is an example of how your brain works. Answer the following questions; what kind of car did you drive before the car you have now? Did you used to see similar cars on the road when you were driving it? What kind of car do you drive now? Don’t you see that car on the road when you are driving now? That is you RAS in action.

Here is the rest of the story. Your subconscious not only works at lightning speed, but it is also ten billion times more powerful then your conscious mind. Your conscious mind only plays a small part in your life to create happiness joy and success for you. Finding ways to train and direct your subconscious mind will often create amazing breakthroughs for you in all areas of your life, even in areas where you have believed yourself stuck for years.

Here are a few simple ways to train your RAS;

    1. Begin each day with a list of things/people for which you feel grateful.
    2. Look for the good in everyone in your life (esp. the ones that drive you crazy)
    3. Practice unconditional love (if that’s too much of a stretch, practice compassion)
    4. Set meaningful goals. (I suggest goals that allow you to contribute to the greater good of society)
    5. Focus on what is right in your life
    6. Become curious. The more beliefs and presuppositions we question, the more we grow. Your brain loves growth and so you will naturally become even more curios.
    7. Find a qualified Nuero Linguistic Programming Practitioner to coach you.

Remember, by choosing to direct your focus, you can have a better more fulfilling life. The choice is always your.

How to Overcome Your Depression

**Disclaimer: This article should not be considered medical advice nor used as a substitute for medical treatment.**

I personally battled with depression for years. I was diagnosed with: depression, mood swing disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. I was referred to a psychiatrist who prescribed me a litany of drugs. I diligently took my medication as prescribed and yet I still felt depressed everyday.

Today I take no medication and am happier than ever!

So what changed? I went to a Life Coach. He taught me a different way of using my brain, a different way of communicating with myself. He showed me that in order not to be depressed I had to stop beating myself up with my internal dialogue. You can take all the medication in the world but if you continue to reinforce the feelings that you are not good enough, you will continue to feel depression. The life coach also showed me that the feelings of inadequacy I harbored was a universal fear. That ALL people have or have had it at some point in their lives. That fear of “not being enough” was tied to my subconscious identity and in order to overcome depression permanently, I had to change the way I saw my self at the subconscious level. He gave me homework and I went to work. I did the assignment over and over and over until change became a MUST for me. See we don’t always get our wishes or our wants. But when something becomes a must to us, we always find a way to accomplish it. And that is what I did. I got myself to the point that I was going to change or I would die trying. The result? I went from living in a rented trailer in 2009 without a family to owning 2 homes and marrying the women of my dreams. Today I can honestly say I am happier than at any other time in my life.

And that is why I became a life coach. I have been gifted and it is a must for me to pay that gift forward to as many people as possible. If you would like to learn more, call me or click the link to schedule a complimentary life coaching session.
