Finding the best life coach

What is Generative Coaching

What is Generative Coaching?

One of the oldest professions in the world is to help people to improve their lives. One effective approach is neuro-linguistic programming, which is a system of techniques that can help you to achieve success by harnessing the approaches that have worked for others who are successful. At Premier Life Coaching, we are able to help people to improve their lives in a variety of different areas. Here is what you need to know about neuro-linguistic programming and how it can work for you.

What is neuro-linguistic programming?

In traditional psychotherapy, the focus is on problems. The idea is that if you can understand intellectually the root cause of your problems, you can be freed from their grip. Psychotherapy goes over your past to try to free you in the present. For many people, this approach is not the most attractive because of its expense and because it takes a long period of time.

In response, other approaches that focused on positive change through increased awareness and self-actualization came into being. These methods are client-centered and positive in their approaches. These approaches led to coaching. Coaching was not meant for people who were sick but was instead for people who were healthy and who were simply seeking to improve their personal and professional lives.

Neuro-linguistic programming gives equal attention to your goals and choices together with your state of consciousness. It assumes that identity and reality are constructed and that your state, including your intentions, beliefs, perceptions, cognitive meanings, and somatic patterning, is the basis of how your reality is constructed.

Neuro-linguistic programming is a type of coaching that gives you a deeper and broader type of work than you can get from traditional coaching. It emphasizes that people are responsible for creating their own lives and helps you to learn that you can attain your goals by mastering your creative consciousness. Here are the five steps of generative coaching to help you to understand.

Five steps of generative coaching

Generative coaching views creative work as a process that needs activation. It is a disciplined process so that your experience can be turned into creative action. There are five steps involved in helping you with this process.

1. Identifying your goals and positive intentions

The first step in generative coaching is to identify your goals and your positive intentions to live in the world creatively. Your positive intentions are the organizers of your creative consciousness. You can identify your goals and positive intentions by asking yourself questions about your calling, what you want to achieve, your vision, and your dreams. Your positive goals should be succinct, meaning that you should be able to state them in five or fewer words. Stating a goal in five or fewer words helps to have clear declarations of what it is that you want to achieve. Your goal should also resonate with you and with your listeners. A goal that does not resonate will not have enough potency.

2. Developing a generative state

In order to achieve your goals, you must be able to develop a creative state of consciousness. The second step of generative coaching is focused on helping you to do this. There are three primary types of filters that exist, including somatic, relational, and cognitive filters. If you are in a negative state, your filters can be observed through your physical posture and your stated negative beliefs. When these filters are shifter to become more positive, it is possible for you to experience a new reality.

3. Take action

After you have identified your positive intentions and have developed a generative state, you will then be positioned to take your creative action into the world. There are three parts of this process, including planning, acting, and evaluating the results. Depending on your results, you might modify your plans and actions. It might be helpful to write down your plans and to be specific with them. You should also journal the results and any changes that you make along the way.

4. Transforming the obstacles that you encounter

Obstacles are unavoidable. They can be external or internal. With generative coaching, the obstacles that you encounter are seen as things that can be transformed so that they become integral to your growth and your success. Obstacles may have resources to offer to you.

In your unconscious, a pattern of experience may have multiple forms that can be both positive and negative. When you bring a positive connection to your negative experiences, you can transform them into positive forms.

5. Ongoing practice

Since generative coaching is focused on your state of consciousness as something that determines your possible realities and experiences, the final step in the process working to ensure that you develop the types of positive practices so that you can continue to grow and change.

Your practices are important. If you dedicate yourself to improving your consciousness every day, your life will improve. At Premier Life Coaching, we can help you to identify the practices that might be the most rewarding and helpful to you. We then focus on how you can make certain to perform them regularly. Chronic Fatigue

One of the most prevalent symptoms of depression is experiencing chronic fatigue (not to be confused with actual chronic fatigue syndrome). You might feel exhausted all the time and want to stay in bed all day. Part of this could be in relation to insomnia because you’re not getting enough sleep at night, which greatly affects your ability to function during the daytime.

You’re Sick All the Time

Lack of sleep suppresses your immune system, which leaves you susceptible to illness. You might find that you’re catching a cold more often. Or, if you had an existing illness, it might come out of remission or the symptoms become worse. This is a double whammy because now you’re having to deal with two major conditions, as well of the risk of your condition worsening overall.

Drug or Alcohol Addiction

People who suffer depression are at greater risk to turn to drugs and alcohol to self-medicate. These substances might temporarily dull the pain you’re experiencing, but worsen the physical effects of depression.

Trouble Concentrating

When you’re consumed with depression, and negative thoughts are prevalent the majority of the time, concentrating is difficult. If you have a job, you could have a hard time staying focused on tasks, easily distracted, worried you’re not doing well enough, or less productive.

Digestive Issues

Your stomach and digestive system are greatly affected by anxiety and depression. You might experience frequent nausea and vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, and other symptoms.

Unexplained Pain

Your body might ache, and you might feel physical pain that can’t be explained by an injury or other condition. Headaches could be more frequent, and migraine sufferers might experience an uptick in the frequency and severity of their migraines. Chest pain without correlation to cardiac issues can occur, and muscle pain without explanation can, too.

Change in Appetite

If you were once a healthy eater, you might find that you’re eating unhealthy foods or that you’re overeating. And on the other hand, you might experience a total loss of appetite, as well as weight loss and signs of malnutrition.

The time to act is now. Letting depression go untreated, or treating it incorrectly, can worsen your physical and emotional symptoms. If you or a loved one are experiencing depression, it’s time to make an appointment to take action.

Why Nuero Linguistic Programming Works So Fast

Neuro-Linguistic Programming recognizes that all behaviors occur in patterns and are rooted in the subconscious mind. Another tenet of NLP is that we are always communicating. The person you communicate with more then anyone else is YOU! And the single most important factor that affects the way we think and feel is the deep structure of that “internal dialogue” of communication of you to you. With this information, a qualified NLP practitioner can help his students to influence behavioral patterns through the use of specific language changes and other types of communication changes (words only account for 7% of our ability to communicate) to enable a person to “recode” information that is stored in their subconscious. This results in new and better patterns of behavior. This also radically affects how people see and feel about themselves in a very positive and healthy way. Because these people now value themselves at a much higher level, they often go on to make significantly more money, many get married or get into healthy fulfilling relationships and go on to lead rich, fulfilled lives. Neuro-Linguistic Programming often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the change (or “programming”) that the client wants to change. I have personally seen hundreds of people stop doing depression and or anxiety with lasting results after only a few sessions. The results you can expect with a good NLP practitioner are nothing short of amazing.

Understanding hypnosis

Another word for hypnosis is trance. Being in trance is a very natural state. We go in and out of trance multiple times everyday. Most people never even notice it. But did you ever have a time when you were driving and you missed your exit? Or worse yet, you drive to your destination, turn off the ignition, and not remember driving there? Believe it or not, that is a very common experience.

All new learning happens in some state of trance. If you watch someone’s eyes as you’re speaking to them, their eyes will move in different directions. They may look up, side to side or look down. That is know as eye accessing cues and is indicative of trance state that last only seconds in most cases.

There are deeper, more prolonged states, and deeper learning happens in these states. When people go into these states, I will often guide the conversation helping them to make new distinctions by disassociating them from the experience. In other words, I will ask them to close their eyes and make a picture or movie of themselves experiencing their “stuck state”. This allows for some space between the person and the experience. This new perspective often is enough for the person to find a new resourceful way of handling the challenges of their life. Often as the open their eyes, they tell me,”I didn’t think I was that deep.”( in trance) The reason they say that is because they were completely aware of outside noises such as a phone ringing, sounds from outside, music in the background etc.

Hypnosis is a very powerful tool that is often misunderstood and subsequently feared. But going into a light guided trance is a powerful way to move yourself rapidly forward in life. I have personally  seen multiple people who had suffered from anxiety, many for years, let go of it in a single session.

Why choose an NLP Life Coach?

There are many people out there today calling themselves, “Life Coach”.  Most coaches are good at helping their clients set goals and use accountability methods in their effort to move their clients forward. These coaches have open ended relationships with their clients who go back to them month after month(continuing to pay the coach)

Other coaches are very good and help their clients to happiness and fulfillment that has eluded them for years. And they do it in a very short period of time.  And sadly, I have personally met more than a few people who have no formal training and really have no business calling themselves “Life Coach”, but they still do.

How do you know which Life Coach is right for you? First off, life coaching should empower their client to be able to coach themselves. Coaching should be finite. It should have a beginning, middle and end. At the end of your program, you should be self sufficient, able to deal with your life’s challenges and not dependent on a coach for the rest of your life. That’s not to say that you won’t ever need help. We all do from time to time. Then you can just check in with your coach for a “tune up”.

Most life coaches will offer you a complimentary life coaching session to allow you to see if he or she is a good fit for you. And he/she should not take it personally if you do not choose them. In fact, a really good coach should be happy to refer you to someone else who might be more suited to help you solve your particular challenges.

How do you know if a Life Coach is REALLY qualified to help you? What qualifications should I look for in a life coach?”, you ask? At a minimum, your coach should be certified. But with so many certifications available (many online), how do you know which is worthwhile and which is not? Simple, ask your potential life coach about his or her qualifications. If he or she is truly competent, then he or she should be happy to discuss their qualifications with you!

The title of this article is “Why an NLP Life Coach?” So allow me to answer that now. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. NLP is an ever evolving body of work co-founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. They began to study a select group of therapists, who in the 1970’s, were producing extraordinary results for their patients.  Since the 1970’s, millions of people have used Neuro-Linguistic Programming to change their lives.

With this knowledge, they have improved their communications, increased their sales, furthered their careers, developed  leadership skills, changed limiting beliefs, and created deeper, more fulfilled lives. Simply put, NLP is the study and practice of excellence.

Jack Canfield, author of  “Chicken Soup for the Soul” says, “NLP is a powerful system of thinking that can accelerate the achievement of your personal and professional goals.”

I personally was gifted by an NLP practicing life coach that dramatically transformed my life in a very short period of time. For that I will be forever grateful. And now as a certified Master Practitioner of  Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and a certified Life Coach, I am able to pay that gift forward.

If it is transformation you are looking for, an NLP practitioner is who you should choose

How to Take Control of Your Sub Conscious Mind

Your sub-conscious or non-conscious mind works approximately 400 to 2,000 times faster then your conscious mind. Think about that for a moment. If your subconscious mind works that much faster than your conscious mind, would it not be beneficial to direct it? Here’s a clue: If you do not direct it your subconscious mind will direct you.

There is a real part of your brain known as the Reticular Activating System. Your RAS is  constantly searching for what to focus on. With all the modern technology, we have more access to news than ever before. Since most of the news reported today is negative, It  can affect your RAS and what it habitually focuses on. If you do not consciously direct your Reticular Activating system, it will direct you.

Our conscious minds are capable of focusing on seven things at once, plus or minus two.
And  right at this very moment, there are at least two billion bits of sensory data coming at you! Out of that two billion the most you can process at your absolute best is 134 bits per second. And that is at your absolute best. But few of us are at our absolute best all the time. In reality the level we operate at is between 7 to 9 bits per second. 7 to 9 out of 2,000,000! So that means is our perception of reality is really, really subjective.

So what happens to the other 1,999,991 bits per second? We subconsciously filter deleting, distorting and generalizing.
Think about this: are news broadcasts generally focused on good news or bad? And with so many different sources of information these days between smart phones, tablets, video and audio, we can barely get away from it! So if your RAS is focusing on 7 to 9 bits of data that it is picking up unconsciously the odds are good that you are unwittingly training your non-conscious mind to focus on negativity. The result of that at a minimum is you fell less than enthusiastic about life and the world and many people end up feeling depressed and anxious. In my opinion, that is no way to go through life.

Here is an example of how your brain works. Answer the following questions; what kind of car did you drive before the car you have now? Did you used to see similar cars on the road when you were driving it? What kind of car do you drive now? Don’t you see that car on the road when you are driving now? That is you RAS in action.

Here is the rest of the story. Your subconscious not only works at lightning speed, but it is also ten billion times more powerful then your conscious mind. Your conscious mind only plays a small part in your life to create happiness joy and success for you. Finding ways to train and direct your subconscious mind will often create amazing breakthroughs for you in all areas of your life, even in areas where you have believed yourself stuck for years.

Here are a few simple ways to train your RAS;

    1. Begin each day with a list of things/people for which you feel grateful.
    2. Look for the good in everyone in your life (esp. the ones that drive you crazy)
    3. Practice unconditional love (if that’s too much of a stretch, practice compassion)
    4. Set meaningful goals. (I suggest goals that allow you to contribute to the greater good of society)
    5. Focus on what is right in your life
    6. Become curious. The more beliefs and presuppositions we question, the more we grow. Your brain loves growth and so you will naturally become even more curios.
    7. Find a qualified Nuero Linguistic Programming Practitioner to coach you.

Remember, by choosing to direct your focus, you can have a better more fulfilling life. The choice is always your.
