NLP Ways to Train Your Brain

Ways to Train Your Brain

Neuro-linguistic programming allows you to understand the way in which your mind establishes its neural routes based on the ways in which you behave from day to day. This process can be understood with an analogy to water. Water may flow into slight depressions in the ground. Over time, more water will deepen the depression, creating a ditch and then a canyon. The water will continue to flow in the same direction after the ditch or canyon has been formed. Even though you might have a similar path established in your mind, it is possible to change it with NLP techniques. The life coach at Premier Life Coaching can use different methods to help you to change your own neural paths in more positive directions.

While most people understand, getting rid of bad habits can take a long time because it is done unconsciously. NLP allows you to take control so that your bad habits can be eradicated in as few as 10 minutes. Some of these techniques include changing your submodalities, anchoring, swish techniques, and Time Line Therapy®. Here are seven ways that you can start to train your brain to act differently to work towards reaching your goals and taking your life in a more positive direction.

1. Identify the habit that you would like to change.

In order to truly get rid of a bad habit, it is important for you to recognize what it is that you would personally like to change. It is common for people to state that they would like to make changes based on feedback from others that they have a problematic habit. When your motivation is only internal, it will be difficult for you to change. Internally, you might simply not care. However, if you truly want to rid yourself of your bad habit both consciously and unconsciously, you are likelier to succeed.

2. To eliminate a bad habit, you first need to discover what you are getting out of it.

People continue in their bad habits because they get something in return from engaging in them. Neuro-linguistic programming refers to this as a secondary gain. Think about what your bad habit is providing to you. For example, people who have food addictions are often substituting foods for something else in their lives that they lack. To help you with this step, write down whatever it is that you are feeling right before you eat non-nutritious foods or before you engage in some other type of bad habit. This helps you to bring it into your consciousness.

3. Identify the mental picture.

When you are experiencing a craving for a certain food, a cigarette, or something else that is bad for you, ask yourself a simple question. You should question what picture you have in your mind when you think about the food or another thing that you crave. Close your eyes and observe the picture closely. Look at whether it is close up or far away as well as where it is positioned on your inner screen.

4. Change the mental picture.

After you have identified your mental picture, take it and move it to various distances away from you in your mind. Make it very small or black it out. After you have moved it far away from you and blackened it, leave it there, and do not recall it to its former position.

5. Focus on doing something different other than your bad habit.

Think about something that you also like doing but that is a more positive and healthy choice. Create a mental picture of it and examine it closely. Make changes to the picture so that it becomes more attractive, using beautiful colors. Bring it closer in focus on your inner screen so that it predominates.

6. Choose Time Line Therapy® to rid yourself of the need to engage in your bad habit.

Time Line Therapy® is a newer NLP technique that helps you by using your internal timeline to change your bad habits so that you no longer need them. If you know how to use this therapeutic technique, complete the limiting decisions process with your memory of the very first time when you engaged in your bad habit.

7. Think of what type of behavior you will engage in instead of your bad habit.

Think forward into the future about what you will do instead of engaging in your bad habit. Be specific, visualizing yourself actively engaging in the positive behavior. For example, if you quit smoking, picture yourself being more active, drawing in the air more deeply, and being cough-free. See yourself going for a morning jog with a new focus on health.

What Is The Meta Model NLP Technique

What Is The Meta Model NLP Technique?

Neuro-linguistic programming is a study of communication between the mind, emotions, and body. Using NLP techniques can help you to achieve your goals in a broad range of areas much faster than traditional psychotherapeutic approaches. Each person has his or her own internal model of the world. The meta-model within NLP techniques is a set of questions that are designed to expand your internal model of the world and challenge some of the information that it contains. At Premier Life Coaching, we are able to use NLP techniques to help you to achieve your goals.

What is an internal model?

In NLP, a central supposition is that your internal model or map of the world is not the actual territory of it. Our internal models or maps are created because of our subjective, internal experiences that we have. Each of our maps has subtle differences, and each of us believes that our own maps are right. This concept explains the confusion in the world.

How to bridge the gap

Instead of accepting that your internal map differs from how the world really is, NLP allows you to find ways to bridge the gap. There are a number of different techniques that can be used to uncover your internal map. Each person tends to have preferences such as visual, kinesthetic, or auditory, and he or she maps his or her experience of the world according to the preferences that he or she has.

The meta-model is a method that you can use to create your map using linguistics. It also allows you to use different filtering processes to distort reality such as generalizations and information deletions. Your map can contain beliefs that are unjustified and injunctions that are not relevant to your current life.

What is the clean language model?

Clean language is a therapeutic NLP technique that helps life coaches to stick as closely as possible to a client’s map. David Grove, the creator of the technique, studied transcripts from when NLP emerged. He found that the original therapists, Perls and Satir, often imposed their own maps onto their clients. At that time, counselors learned to paraphrase their clients’ words in order to try to make things more understandable.

Coaches that use the clean language model adhere rigidly to the wording used by their clients. The wording is then included within nine formal questions, and the questions are designed to help to locate it in time or space, to move it backward or forward in time, or to elaborate further on it.

Every clean language question starts with the word and. The questions can sound a little strange. For example, if a client states that he or she is stuck in a rut, the life coach may then reply something like, “And what type of stuck in a rut is your stuck in a rut?”

Coaches are also recommended to ask the questions in a manner that matches the client’s own intonation and emphasis. This helps to keep a client safe inside of his or her own map while the coach encourages him or her to investigate it. NLP instructs coaches and clients to maintain their curiosity about both their own maps and those of other people since every map differs from each other.

The importance of NLP State Management

The importance of NLP State Management

People whose lives are highly successful understand that people cycle through different states every day. Some of these states are beneficial, including satisfaction, excitement, or contentment. Others are negative, including fear, resentment, or anger. The state in which you find yourself results from the interaction of your thinking patterns with your state of physical wellbeing and the neurotransmitters that help to cause your emotions. To become a more effective person, managing your states is crucial. Premier Life Coaching can help you to learn better state management so that you can reach your personal and professional goals.

What is state management?

Modifying your emotions, physiology, or thinking can change your state. This gives you the ability to modify your results. As you become more aware of your actions, you can learn to alter them in a manner that changes the way in which you feel.

State management does not mean that you will never feel negative. Instead, you will gain awareness of the state that you are in so that you can choose your response consciously.

If you spend most of your time in beneficial states, you will be likelier to be an effective and successful person. If you instead spend most of your time in a negative state, you will do and say things that complicate your life. Here are five ways that you can boost your skills.

5 ways to boost your state management skills

There are five steps that you can take to build your state management skills. By working through these steps, you can start the process of managing your states more effectively.

1. Identify your state

Over the next month, try to keep track of all of your states and write them down. Begin now by noticing the state that you are presently in. Ask yourself the following questions to help you with this process:

  • How do you physically feel?
  • What is currently occupying your thoughts?
  • What emotions are you feeling?
  • What body sensations are your emotions causing?

After you identify the state that you are in, consider how it either empowers or limits you. Do you like who you are in your current state? If you do not, you can begin to work on changing your state.

2. Identify the triggers

The next step is for you to identify all of the things that trigger you and write them down. Track each state that you identify to the moment that it starts. Some examples of triggers might include someone else’s action, your own action, or a memory.

3. Neutralize the un-resourceful triggers

If you have experienced a negative trigger, don’t ignore it. It is important for you to deal with whatever it is that is bothering you. Confronting your negative trigger can help you to clear it away. If your negative state arises from a trauma that you have experienced in the past, think about what the state does for you. In many cases, people find that they enter negative states because of past trauma in order to protect themselves from perceived threats. This allows you to identify the issues that you should address.

4. Build a foundation of positive triggers into your daily routine

Think about and identify the states that help to empower you. Then, identify the triggers that lead to them. Consider whether your positive states have a common theme. Then, create a weekly schedule that includes your positive triggers. Try to begin each day with one of your positive triggers, and add two more during the day. Plant a beneficial trigger during your evening so that you can end your day in a positive state.

5. Advanced state management

After you have learned basic state management, you can then move on to more advanced state management. You can do this by making the following changes.

Change your mental image – Your states rely on the mental images that you hold of circumstances or objects. Using your senses, change the mental images that you make. For example, if you have a mental picture of a threat, try reducing its size.

Change your physiology – Making small physical changes can have an impact on how you feel. Try to use good posture, Engage in physical exercise and breathing exercises, and try to smile.

Change your self-talk – Listen to the self-talk that you engage in, and try to keep it positive and uplifting.

The Secret Of Finding Emotional Balance In Life

The Secret Of Finding Emotional Balance In Life

At Premier Life Coaching, we recognize that all people possess innate archetypes or energies that can provide them with answers for how to find emotional balance in their lives. The archetypes that influence you can be harnessed in a way to be positive and powerful forces and the destructive qualities that you possess can be identified so that you can gain a better understanding of yourself. Through neuro-linguistic programming, you can understand the archetypes that shape the way in which you think and react so that you can achieve balance in your life.

What is the secret of finding emotional balance in life?

It is possible to find emotional balance in your life by gaining a deep understanding of your archetypes and the effect that they have on you and on the people who are close to you. Archetypes may affect you in predictable ways. Understanding the archetypes that influence you can allow you to overcome your individual weaknesses so that you can gain balance in your life.

3 Main NLP Archetypes

Neuro-linguistic programming recognizes three primary archetypes, including the following:

  • Strength, power, and expression
  • Softness, connection, and compassion
  • Playfulness, perspective, and options

The individual archetype category that influences you the most can greatly impact the manner in which you perceive the world and in which you interact with others.

3 Destructive Qualities

Every person tends to embody one or two of the archetypes but may also find them to be challenging at times. When you undergo stress, you may experience a destructive manifestation of the archetypes that shape your personality. The destructive qualities are the flip sides of the archetypes and include the following:

  • Aggression as opposed to strength
  • Being emotionally overwhelmed as opposed to softness
  • Manipulativeness as opposed to playfulness

If you are a person who possesses strength as your primary archetype, you may find that you become overly aggressive when you undergo stress. These shadow qualities may have a negative impact on your life and on how others view you.

Understanding Your Gifts

Your personal archetypes can benefit you. To enjoy the benefits that they can provide, you will also need to learn how to live with the consequences of the shadow qualities that accompany them. Learning to manage the destructive qualities can help you to derive a sense of balance and mindfulness. Achieving a state of mindfulness through NLP can help you to manage your destructive qualities while allowing you to understand the gifts that you have and to allow them to shine.

One way to do this is to become curious about the way in which you respond to situations. When you become curious about your responses, you can manage your emotions instead of letting them dominate you. The destructive qualities that you possess can provide important information to you. They can let you know that you have some areas that you need to develop and can motivate you to create novel strategies for self-management and self-reflection. Your shadow qualities tell you about your unmet needs. You should learn to accept yourself and your shadows instead of repressing them so that you can achieve greater balance.

Applying the appropriate archetype to the situation

When you encounter a challenging situation, it is important for you to use the appropriate archetype for it. Even if you find it to be challenging to act from an archetype that is hard for you, it is better to use the appropriate one instead of falling back on the destructive qualities that you possess. When something triggers a strong reaction of stress in you, it can be harder for you to contain your destructive qualities. When this happens, try to detach yourself from the situation so that you do not do or say something that you might regret later.

How to learn about ourselves

People tend to identify with the destructive qualities or shadows of others on both a conscious and unconscious level. Often, people will hate others who have qualities that they also have. Shadows can work in two different ways. If you are ashamed of a destructive quality that you possess, you may find others who possess the same qualities to be difficult and irritating. The other way in which shadows can work is that they can draw you to people who share destructive qualities with you. You can learn about yourself through others. If you feel repelled by a person, think about what it is that repulses you. Consider whether you might share a destructive quality with that person that you need to address in yourself. If you are drawn to someone who engages in destructive reactions or behaviors, conducting a self-examination may help you to live a healthier, more balanced life.

Why Nuero Linguistic Programming Works So Fast

Neuro-Linguistic Programming recognizes that all behaviors occur in patterns and are rooted in the subconscious mind. Another tenet of NLP is that we are always communicating. The person you communicate with more then anyone else is YOU! And the single most important factor that affects the way we think and feel is the deep structure of that “internal dialogue” of communication of you to you. With this information, a qualified NLP practitioner can help his students to influence behavioral patterns through the use of specific language changes and other types of communication changes (words only account for 7% of our ability to communicate) to enable a person to “recode” information that is stored in their subconscious. This results in new and better patterns of behavior. This also radically affects how people see and feel about themselves in a very positive and healthy way. Because these people now value themselves at a much higher level, they often go on to make significantly more money, many get married or get into healthy fulfilling relationships and go on to lead rich, fulfilled lives. Neuro-Linguistic Programming often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the change (or “programming”) that the client wants to change. I have personally seen hundreds of people stop doing depression and or anxiety with lasting results after only a few sessions. The results you can expect with a good NLP practitioner are nothing short of amazing.
